Abstract:
A review of the transition from IBM’s 8 inch flexible disk drive standard to smaller drives, as the personal computer market emerged. Panel members participated in establishing first the 5.25 inch FDD standard, and then the 3.5 inch FDD standard, as dozens of companies scrambled to establish production.
